AIRLINE SCULPTURES

In this series, it is not the bronze that is central, but what is missing: the emptiness. The lines – burnt in, cast, hardened – delimit a nothingness that becomes the actual form. These “Air-Lines” are imagined spaces made visible by their outlines.I am fascinated by the transformation: from fleeting Styrofoam to heavy bronze – and yet the essential remains immaterial. The sculpture is merely a shell for the invisible.
