SPACE BETWEEN BANANAS 2

I was born soft, but I have become hard. Formed from tension, freed from pressure. The air that flows through me does not make me empty – it makes me possible. He did not try to smooth me out. He let me breathe. I am not a banana. I am the in-between. Between smile and cut. Between bulge and wound. And although I am firm – I am full of movement.

The title is a wink. The sculpture is not. “Space between bananas” plays with expectation, with form, with what we believe we recognize – and what lies in between. It is not about bananas. It is about spaces. About what defines us without being visible. I work with what arises when you do not have full control over something. The tension in the material, the holes that seem random, yet are full of presence. This sculpture reminds me: We are not arbitrary. Not smooth. Not finished. We are intermediate spaces with a life of their own. Not banana – special.
