Elastic States – Held Tensions
In my Tension Sculptures, I explore the space between forces – between stretching and resistance, between inside and outside, movement and rigidity. These are sculptures that arise from the field of tension – in both the literal and figurative sense.
The elastic objects made of fabric respond immediately to the forces acting upon them. They bend, arch, and stretch. They speak of the process, of searching and balancing, of the constant change.
The works cast in bronze, on the other hand, are snapshots of this state. Held tension. They freeze movement, making the fleeting permanent, without losing its energy.
Whether softly stretched or cast in metal: it is always about the fragility and strength of transitions. About what lies in between – and about what emerges when one does not stop probing.
