Connection for Life
The three-part, organic body seems to float above the ground. Protruding elements surround it and prevent direct contact with the floor. Circularly arranged cable ties form the cells of the main body, whose shape resembles an oversized peanut. Its lattice-like structure is both a boundary and permeable.

White cable ties hold the black rings together. This bond encases the light-colored ends as a spiky protective layer. The hairy entity appears alien and fascinating. Though self-contained, the body still communicates outward, extending its feelers in all directions. It seems tranquil and otherworldly, yet through its transparency, it remains in constant interaction with its surroundings—ever searching through its external sensors.

The material characteristics of the hairy cell body speak of relationships, connectedness, and firm bonds that are nevertheless elastic and, to some extent, adaptable and mobile. There is an inner circle that, without entirely abandoning the original community, is able to expand like a bubble by integrating new units. And there is an outer circle that guarantees the cohesion of the inner circle while simultaneously extending its feelers protectively and inquisitively—to ward off, but above all to mediate and enable new connections.

These qualities allow the object to be seen as a spiritual structure—a symbol of a community that is open to a spiritual center. A community that holds together and yet is open to new members, which it also needs as a rejuvenation of its cells. The white cable ties can be seen as symbols of the spiritual connection among the members, providing support, stability, radiance, and openness to the outside world.

A bond for life, then? A connectedness in the Holy Spirit with God, who is present in the breath of the world and in its open spaces? A community bound to God that holds together for the sake of life and survival, and is therefore stronger? A cohesion anchored in God, a solidarity that fosters and protects life, that creates space for the unfolding of life and goodness? – A Connection for Life.
